मोती बोने की कला - अकबर बीरबल की कहानी

बादशाह ने भारी जनमत को बीरबल के खिलाफ देख आज्ञा दी कि बीरबल को सूली पर चढ़ा दिया जाए। दिन तय हुआ। बीरबल ने अपनी अंतिम बात कहने की आज्ञा मांगी।

आज्ञा मिलने पर उसने कहा, "मैंने सारी चीजें तो आपको बता दीं, पर मोती बोने की कला नहीं सिखा पाया।"

अकबर बोला, "सच, क्या तुम वह जानते हो? तो ठीक है जब तक मैं यह सीख न लूं, तुम्हें जीने का अवसर दिया जाता है"

बीरबल ने कुछ विशेष महलों की ओर इशारा करते हुए कहा, "इन्हें ढहा दिया जाए क्योंकि इसी जमीन में उत्तम मोती पैदा हो सकते हैं"। महल ढहा दिए गए। ये महल बीरबल की झूठी शिकायत करने वाले दरबारियों के थे। वहां बीरबल ने जौ बो दिए। कुछ दिन बाद बीरबल ने सभी से कहा, "कल सुबह ये पौधे मोती पैदा करेंगे"

अगले दिन सभी आए। ओस की बूंदें जौ के पौधों पर मोती की तरह चमक रही थीं। बीरबल ने कहा, "अब आप लोगों में से जो निरपराधी, दूध का धुला हो, इन मोतियों को काट ले। लेकिन यदि किसी ने एक भी अपराध किया होगा तो ये मोती पानी होकर गिर जाएंगे"

कोई आगे न बढ़ा। लेकिन अकबर समझ गए कि गलतियां तो सभी से होती हैं। बादशाह ने बीरबल को मुक्त कर दिया। सार यह है कि किसी को दंडित करने से पूर्व उसके दोषी या निर्दोष होने के बारे में भलीभांति जांच कर लेनी चाहिए।

The King ordered heavy public opinion against Birbal to be given to Birbal to be crucified. The day is fixed. Birbal asked for an order to say his last point.

On receiving the command, he said, "I told you all the things, but could not teach the art of planting pearls."

Akbar said, "True, do you know that? It is fine, till I do not learn it, you are given a chance to live"

Birbal pointed to some special palaces and said, "They should be demolished as there are good pearls in this land." The palace was demolished. These palaces were of the Darbaris who made false complaints of Birbal. There Birbal gave barley there. A few days later Birbal told everyone, "These plants will grow beads tomorrow morning"

The next day all came. Dew drops were shining like pearls on barley plants. Birbal said, "Now that you are innocent of the innocent, milk is washed away, then these beads will be cut off. But if anybody has committed a crime then these pearls will fall down to water"

Nobody raised anything. But Akbar understood that mistakes are made by everyone. The king freed Birbal. The essence is that before any person is punished, he should be well-examined about being guilty or innocent.
